fairy-princess

The purpose of this blog is to illustrate the completely surreal experience of having a family member with special needs, and how those that are blessed with the experience wouldn’t change it for the world.

My sister, Alyne, is severely mentally retarded, poor verbal, poor motor, with autistic tendencies. She also has obsessive-compulsive disorder.  Life with Alyne is, well, unique.  For someone that is supposed to be pitied and coddled by today’s standards, she has us all fooled.  I hope to illustrate this in future blogs.  We are, after all, her minions.

  1. This is just fabulous. I work with Kate, and she’s mentioned this blog to me and for some reason I am just now getting to reading it. Your writing is brilliant, and your observations and insights are acute and honest. Thank you!!
